Easy IT: A Brief History


We are Easy IT, proud to be competitive in the South African IT market. We were founded in 1998, at the dawn of an age in which the IT industry would flourish like never before.

Over the years, we expanded our horizons (primarily driven by our ever growing customer base and their associated needs) from a hardware only supplier to a fully fledged value added IT service provider. This is a trait that we are proud to say still features today, we adapt and expand as our customers require.

We were also fortunate to become involved during the early uptake of open source solutions and are therefore very well positioned to provide businesses with complete "alternative" open source implementations or hybrid solutions as required and pride ourselves in the ability to consult our customers impartially "on both sides of the fence" when it comes to implementing the best solutions for their specific needs.

We have grown from a dream to a fully-fledged company with structure, discipline and endurance.

We currently strive to fulfill the entire spectrum of IT needs (Associated with small and medium enterprise) and we are dedicated to our customers and endeavour to provide them with the highest quality and most cost effective products, systems and services available.

Easy IT's Vision and Strategy


Our vision is to ensure complete customer satisfaction and quality of service in all products, solutions and services we deliver while maintaining an acceptable price point across the board.

Further to this we also envisage being able to supply, implement and support all aspects of our customers integrated IT needs.

Our Strategy
A clearly defined strategy guides Easy IT’s daily actions. We always ensure that we stay up to date with the latest products, techniques and technologies available as well as better our own customized solutions on a constant basis.

We believe that this is the only solution to the broadening array of challenges our customers face on a daily basis and it translates directly into our ability to help customers acquire and maintain reliable, effective and cost effective IT solutions.

What separates Easy IT from any other standard IT Company, is the seamless balance we maintain between fulfilling our customers hi-tech and hi-touch requirements simultaneously. We are passionate about the IT industry and our customers' individual needs and we strive to learn, grow, expand and adapt to new opportunities.

Our Experience


Our range of skills and expertise are (fortunately) too broad and deep to list here but we can comment on the fact that we offer a 4 tier expertise based solution chain that covers not only our support procedures but also all other aspects (such as supply and consultation) of the complete IT solution we are striving for.

Our most senior consultant has as much as 24 years experience in the field and we work hard at collaborating our knowledge and pooling our experience to allow even the most junior technician to draw on this base of support. This effectively multiplies every employee's experience and has a cumulative value of over 140 years of "hands on" and "in the field" time.

We are happy to report that we have in recent years been able to consistently draw on this large experience pool enabling us to under quote and out perform some of the big names in the industry.

Our solutions are also tried and tested extensively before it is supplied to a customer, to ensure that it:

  • Meets the strictest of standards
  • Completely fills the client's requirements
  • Will provide a sustainable, maintainable and expandable solution into the future
  • Remain cost effective yet reliable even after installation date
  • And with certainty be a "better" solution than that possibly provided by our competitors

Apart from the enormous list of implementations and solutions we already have under our belt, we also draw great pride from the fact that there is no IT task, requirement or project we are not willing to approach. We also provide internship opportunities for IT students and graduates to gain much needed practical experience as part of our corporate social investment.

Employees / Footprint / Turnaround Times


We currently have 11 permanent employees of which 36% is non white. 10 are based in the Western Cape and 1 in Johannesburg. Permanent staff tends to the supply, technical, admin, management and financial requirements while various contractors fill in specific and general gaps as/when needed.

Our support and installation base is further expanded by:

  • Newer remote connectivity techniques and technologies
  • A permanent base of operations in the greater Gauteng region
  • Long term affiliates in the greater Gauteng region
  • A support base in Durban/Umhlanga
  • Contractors further afield

All operations, contact and management is however handled by our Western Cape branch providing one seamless point of contact to our customers.

Our turn around times:

  • Are generally considered to be faster than the norm in this industry at a 12 years average of below 1 hour
  • We employ secure remote connections to all SLA and most other customers enabling us to cost effectively resolve almost all problems at an accelerated rate
  • We provide dedicated and customised Service Level Agreements (SLA's) that guarantee specific turnaround times
  • We provide a 24/7 support and contact service
  • We also provide retainer based services to ensure someone is available to assist as required

Dedicated IT Consulting


Over the years we have grown with our customers and learnt that a personalised service is valuable beyond compare. We have seen that trust is the most important word in the IT industry and that trust can only be earned through time.

It is due to this that our consultation service has changed over the years to a more genuine, open focused and personalised approach as we find it paramount that a customer trust us rather then us making a sale. We prefer gaining a new clients trust through providing solutions that genuinely benefits that customer than making money out of a deal or a sale.

We therefor do not see prospects as sales but as potential partners moving forward and we work hard at achieving this goal.

We are therefore extremely proud that our integrity is paramount, that we build strong relationships with customers based on trust and that we are therefore dedicated to IT consulting rather than "selling". It is for this reason alone that we provide a free initial consultation, if anything, we want to add value to your IT decisions.

Product and Service Overview


Even though the products and services we provide are excessively diverse, we focus on various key aspects.

Firstly we design, implement, maintain and support medium to large scale networked infrastructures for SMB / SME's while striving to encompass all aspects related thereto. This in itself is an almost immeasurable broad spectrum, enabling us to proudly state that we truly offer an end-to-end solution.

Secondly, we provide a large range of value added services catered around the needs of the above mentioned and various more niche-like implementations.

Some of our more diverse endeavours include the secure provisioning of high speed shared Internet access to commercial and residential complexes and the design, implementation and maintenance of a distributed work force solution with central collaboration servers via secured remote connections. We do however believe that we are able to source, implement and maintain any hardware or software platform internationally available and are well positioned to adapt to any need a customer might have.

Some technologies we employ are proprietary to us, as it helps us provide the best possible solutions to our customer, it also helps distinguish us from our competitors. Similarly, various solutions are proprietary to each individual customer as it suits their needs best.

Our services are completely scalable and dynamic in the sense that they change as the customer or situation requires. We do however use a modular approach whereby we use proven technologies and procedures as part of each solution. We constantly develop and expand our product range and procedures to ensure stability, reliability and performance - while working hard at keeping costs and specifically the total cost of ownership to the customer, as low as possible.

We focus on transparency to the end user and react to changing needs and technologies, to ensure that the customer sees a faster return on capital, has an easier IT experience and has room for both growth and change.

It is evident that we are committed to supporting our products and solutions, we adhere to high quality control procedures and we strive to provide the best possible service in this, a service lacking, society.

Procurement and Supply Strategy


We supply and support a very broad range of hardware and software products - even trying to list them here would be nonsensical.
We also import solutions should they not be locally available and always endeavour to assist the customer with any requirement they may have.

Our more recognized products range from major brands such as Dell to relatively obscure brands such as Sunix and we cover the entire spectrum from Servers, PC's to Apple Macintosh, Printers, networking equipment, consumables and even specialized software solutions such as Linux based mail collaboration suites.

Our standard warranty ranges include a 3 year "carry in", limited lifetime to manufacturer next business day "on-site" warranties.

Perhaps the most important to note here, is the fact that we only supply hardware that has a full ISO 9002 quality history and we also follow very stringent quality control procedures and checks in our workshop environment. This might drive costs to the end user slightly upward, but in our years of experience, we have seen the reliability it brings to the table. The old Afrikaans saying definitely rings true "Goedkoop koop is duur koop" or "Being Penny wise is sometimes being Pound foolish".

Lastly, we work hard at ensuring that our margins are as low as possible, the consumer should benefit through new technology not suffer because of it. Give us a try, we will do our best to beat any quotation out there.
